Hello everyone!

I’d like to discuss an important topic regarding Google indexing for websites on Prestashop and Opencart.

For quite some time now (about 1-2 years), I’ve noticed an interesting trend: websites on Opencart generally rank higher in search results for key queries compared to projects on Prestashop. Perhaps I’m mistaken, but from my personal observations, Opencart websites often look simpler and less visually appealing than Prestashop sites. However, when it comes to indexing and ranking, Opencart seems to have the upper hand.

I’d like to reach out to those who have expertise in SEO and website promotion:
What could be the issue here? Why does Prestashop appear to lag behind despite significant efforts?

I’ve been working with Prestashop since version 1.6 (starting in 2014). Currently, I’m using Prestashop 8.2.0 with the Panda Theme and ETS module. Over this time, I’ve made numerous improvements in SEO and usability, but unfortunately, I haven’t seen significant growth in rankings or visibility.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights on this matter!

What domain-project and google-version are you talking about? google.com.ua, google.com or google.de etc. ?

Presta wins over Opencart with its admin, and in European language projects the indexing is better, but you have to work significantly with product cards (good uniqueness and completeness of content are needed)

and in Ukraine - almost the same indexing on any system, but the problem here is not in the system, but in the great competition: both from the side of million-marketplaces (rosetka, epicenter, etc.) and from the side of constructors such as prom, zakupka, horoshop etc.

The topic is google.com.ua. As for product cards, I understood that this is very important (I am already working on unique content for each product), but if we take competitors who do not even have a description in the product card, and the product on the OP is indexed better than in the PS, then it is not clear what the problem could be. Perhaps due to the complexity of the code in the PS or the page loading speed, the ranking is better? I would also like to know about buying link mass, how to do it correctly and where it is better to do it. I would be grateful if there is detailed information on improving indexing based on the PS

Речь идёт про google.com.ua. Вот по поводу карточек товара я так и понял что это очень важно (уже работаю над уникальнчм контентом для каждого товара), но если взять с конкурентами у которых даже описания нет в карточке товара, а товар на ОП индексируется лучше чем в ПС, то непонятно в чём может быть проблема. Возможно из за сложности кода в ПС или Скорости загрузки страниц ранжирование лучше? Так же хотел бы узнать по поводу, покупки ссылочной массы как правильно и где лучше этим заниматься. Буду благодарен если будет подробная информация по улучшению индексации на базе ПС

I also noticed OP is better indexed than Presta in Bulgaria. I noticed OC works much faster than Prestashop, there is no delay in Adding to cart like it is with prestashop
