DFMPro (Design For Manufacturbility Professional) is an easy-to-use manufacturing verification tool for designers and process engineers, integrated into Siemens NX. Its use makes it easier to check manufacturability and identify parts of the project that can be laborious or expensive to manufacture in relation to turning, milling, turning and milling, sheet processing, etc.


An express analysis of the manufacturability of a part in terms of the possibilities and principles of milling or turning is carried out thanks to the DFMPro module. You simply select the type of part - milling or turning - and in a matter of seconds you will receive a detailed report on possible machining problems. DFMPro will find all elements inaccessible to the cutter that do not meet enterprise standards in terms of depth / diameter ratio or belonging to a standard range of hole diameters, rounding of outer edges and triangular inner corners, holes that come out on the outer edges not perpendicular to them or intersect internal cavities, and even overestimated tolerances in accuracy. For turned parts, it also finds grooves without bore fillets and all non-fillet circular edges.
DFMPro is used in case of increased requirements for the capabilities of the system for checking the manufacturability of parts, as well as for the use of such a tool in relation to turning-milling and sheet metal parts. This module performs a larger number of checks - and it checks not only the geometry of the part, but also user-configured attributes, for example, the material grade - but also allows you to customize the analysis rules in a much wider range.
