I haven't tried it, nor looking into the code. But I have the feeling that it is a well coded theme.
If you're into webdesign and can do some coding yourself I suggest you look into it.
If I knew how much time it would take to clean up, optimize and fix errors for a paid theme I would have started with DevBlinders or Falcon instead.
You should also take a look at Falcon.
Is also a free theme.

One interesting thing about Falcon is that the developer plans to remove the usage of jQuery and remove core.js.
When looking at the roadmap for version 4 those things has been completed.
