Late reply but have a look at the breeze theme. It replaces all the core Luma javascript frontend with ligthweight alternatives. Gives something like a 98 page score speed out of the box last i checked. Great theme and its free! Only downside is you have to manually integrate a lot of extensions/modules and with it being relatively new documentation is limited.

You're gonna probably have better luck posting in the add-ons forum than the theme forum. And I think I saw there is a pretty up to date version floating around on there too.

Working fine here its the only theme i'll run with mag2 now
