To delete a template in Moodle, you must have administrator rights. Here are the steps:
1. Login as Admin
Make sure you log in using an account with administrator access in Moodle.
2. Go to Theme Settings
Click the Site administration menu.
Select Appearance.
Then select Themes.
3. Delete Active Template or Theme
If you want to change or delete the currently active theme:
Go to the Theme selector section.
Select the default theme or another theme you want to use.
Once another theme is active, the old theme will no longer be used, but its files will remain.
4. Delete Theme Files from Server
If you want to completely remove a theme from Moodle:
Access Files on Server:
Use the File Manager on your hosting (for example, cPanel or FTP) to access the Moodle installation folder.
Go to the themes directory in the Moodle installation folder.
Delete Theme Folder:
Find the theme folder you want to delete.
Delete the folder.
5. Purge Caches (Cleaning Cache)
After deleting a theme, clear the Moodle cache:
Go to Site administration > Development > Purge caches.
Click Purge all caches to ensure the changes take effect.
