Hello. For sure if you want to make a bigger shop which will be configure able, will have a magazine and things like that is Prestashop. Woocommerce is more popular but you has to remember that WP was created to making blogs, not the online stores, so products in Woocommerce will never be as configureable as they are in Prestashop.

Prestashop has a lot of addons - also free and paid. Also it has a lot of themes - free and paid. It is very very fast. You can have a store with a one hundred thousand of products and if it is made good it will be very very fast. Also Prestashop has a lot of addons for SEO so making you site visible in Google is easier than ever. Only need your time and work, but you don't have to had a programmer skills.
