When you upgrade make sure you backup your licence from your main 8.8.0 install. Once you have upgraded it will tell you something that the licence is invalid. Then just restore the one from the 8.8.0 install and refresh.

I'm using this exact version with the same method and it's working fully.

all i had to do was update the license.php file. make a change from 8.8.0 to 8.9.0 and it worked. just anyone experiencing the issue
