We would like to announce a new update version for JomSocial - JomSocial 4.7.8 is available for download. This new version contains the important bug fixes for the postbox emoji, Amazon S3 storage, postbox location issue, security fix and more. JomSocial 4.7.8 is updated for the latest Joomla 3.9.23 compatibility.
JomSocial 4.7.8 bug fixes :
- Postbox Location: Google map location issue fixed for frontpage postbox during posting on wall stream.
- Fix issue: Can not see the thumbnail on the "Change Profile Picture" page after rotating the thumbnail.
- Send message button: Send message button inside chatbox fixed.
- Serialization of 'JXMLElement' is not allowed error showing on Frontpage wall fixed.
- JomSocial - Amazon S3: upload metadata changed issue fixed. Now it will use the default Image metadata after uploading.
- Postbox Emoji code issue: Now emoji will display its icon in the post once selected.
- Update new emoji board on postbox for improved emoji icons.
- Can't display emoji when typing characters from the keyboard issue fixed.
- Improved Photo upload thumbnail: Postbox upload photo thumbnail re-styled for a better view
- XSS (Cross Site Scripting) security issue fixed
How to Download and Upgrade
- Check the system requirements Here
- Create a full Backup of your website
- Make sure you are running minimum JomSocial 4.4 or JomSocial 4.5 version
- If you use JomSocial 4.3 or lower - Make the tier upgrade as explained in this doc & update Jomsocial with > 4.3 > 4.4 > 4.5.x > 4.7.x
- Download JomSocial 4.7.8 from new unified download system here
- Install the package 4.7.8 zip installer file
- To update the theme in JomSocial : Download latest version of theme and install it via JomSocial > Configuration > templates > upload latest package
