the problem was the knowband module, it was not enough to deactivate it. After removing it, the module could be installed. But it is very slow.

The performance of your store depends on a number of factors: site optimization, how many products you have, whether you are on the shared or on a dedicated server, and many other things that can slow down your site.
Therefore, there is a list of methods to address each factor and accomplish PrestaShop speed up.

But before making any change on your PrestaShop site it is highly recommended to do two things:
1. BackUp your site (all files and database - search Security Pro or 2NT Backup & Restore)
2. Perform some benchmarks (GTmetrix or PageSpeed).

The idea behind this is to know what your baseline performance is, so that you can make sure that your changes are increasing your shop’s performance and not the other way around.
Keep in mind that the surest way to tune your shop is: benchmark » make a change » repeat

Thank you so much for your concern. The server on which I run prestashop is vps, which I myself moderate. After installing the module, the processor starts to overload, reaches 100% and hangs. I did not see anything through the error log. In fact, I set up the server very badly, and my PrestaShop is terribly reprogrammed so that a normal programmer would get a heart attack from what he saw. I will re-upload it to an armored server, and I will redo the store to PrestaShop 1.7 without so many errors.

If you are running a live shop with errors and you want to try to upgrade (not migrate) to Prestashop 1.7 well... probably will go wrong, but try it out. Nothing to lose right?
Try 1-Click Direct Upgrade to 1.7 - Better, faster & stable Module V2.1.8, from ETS and see if it works.

If you go for a fresh new install, here's some advice to you:
1. Try to get a good hosting server, dedicated if possible, and set it up correctly (SSL Certificate, System PHP version and PHP INI settings...)
2. Do a correct installation of the latest stable version of Prestashop and set it up correctly (advance and shop parameters, email settings, native modules...)

Note: All Website changes, upgrades and modifications should always be made in a test or development environment first before being made to the live store. Install a Web Development IDE (Integrated Development Environment ) in your computer or a simple Windows Web Development like Xamp or Wamp to do the craziest tests in your Prestashop.
From the "old shop" don't forget to back up database/files that are important to your shop and try to import the database/files
to your "new shop" otherwise you will start all over again from scratch (categories, product, images...) and that's a lot of work...

When setting up a Prestashop site, I always use a new theme with the original theme modules (sometimes need some modifications to work the way I want...) and I just install a few "extra" modules, only the ones necessary to improve Prestashop performance, functionalities and increase security, for example;

Thank u so much. I learned a lot from your answer. I have a restaurant directory with reservation functions and all clases and controllers ware changed. So I´m scared because web system has 50.000 visitors and its realy good idea but very bad system. For a year now I have not been able to decide whether to create everything from scratch on prestashop 1.7 or to suffer with the old version. I need marketplace module for create system of creating new restaurants pages by owners. What will u advice me. Creat new system on 1.7 or work in 1.6? Thanks

- You have a live store with more than 50.000 visitors
- Restaurant type with reservation system
- Need a marketplace module for convert your online store into a marketplace so that multiple sellers can list their products/services on your store
- Running a Prestashop 1.6
- Installing, testing and deleting modules on a live store
- some errors, conflicts...
Yep. You should be scared!

If your store is a success and well know (50.000 visitors) in your case, you have a lot to lose if you try to upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7 and things go wrong, even with the rollback feature or with backup's. It's a very high risk and you could lose everything...

What I advise you is to join efforts to keep the current store up and running with minimal errors and, at the same time, start preparing a test site (it can be on your pc » localhost). Install the latest stable version of Prestashop and do the setup right, a new theme and the latest version of a marketplace module like ETS - Marketplace Builder 3.4.1 (latest version) or JA Marketplace v7.1.0. You can also try to install a copy of your live store database (customers, produts...) in your test site. You can install, test, delete... modules, change files... without affecting your live store.

Once you've found the perfect setup you can simply upload (files and database) it to a new server and, with a few modifications, you have a new, functional and modern live store in minutes. That way you get a testing site (localhost) and the live site (your online store).
(If your hosting provider allows, you can have two prestashop stores running -subfolders or subdomains- one live for your customers and the other for testing)

To do this, It takes a lot of work and some knowledge but I believe, with pacience, you will be able to do it.
