yes, you can edit html code from back office configurator page. There are templates for special events like christmas, blak friday, cyber monday etc. The module have 3 different mode to work: newsletter, promo coupon or banner. tested on PS 1.7.4.4 it's ok
I think it's more useful and better developed than many paid modules
