It's a common issue to get those messages if you didn't install any image optimization modules, Google page speed insights and GTmetrix will give your site relative low scores if your site uses unoptimized images.
This module is a
quick and basic solution you can use for free to optimize images showing on your site's homepage to make your site get higher scores on page speed testing tools.
By the way, we have a paid module called
WebP module for PrestaShop which can be used to optimize images to make your site get high scores.
How this module works?
Page speed testing tools will give out images which need to be optimized, you just need to copy those image urls to this module, this module will optimized them to make your site get higher scores. This module is perfect for sites which don't update their homepages very often. If your site's homepage get updated frequently, for example, you add new banners, new products, new blog posts to your site homepage very often, then this module doesn't suit for you, you can use use our
webp module instead, the webp module optimizes all product images, blog images and banners.
NOTE This module can optimize most images very well, but page speed testing tools may still say that some already optimized images can be optimized further, don't worry too much about that, because using a 90% optimized image is already quite good compares with using an unoptimized image. We found if we reduced image quality for a little, then all images would be considered as well optimized, but that's not we wanted, what we want is to have optimized images in good quality.
